Affectionately called The Vic by its regulars, Grosvenor Casino The Victoria is a London-based casino that never sleeps. It is open to the general public 24 hours 7 days a week. It is owned and operated by Grosvenor Casinos, a gaming giant in the UK.

The Vic is considered a modern casino with a wide variety of games. In order to play there, you have to be of at least 18 years of age and you have to register for a membership. The good news that registration is free and you can do it online here.

History

The Vic was established in the mid-1960s. At the time, it was the “it” casino in London. It was originally the Victoria Sporting Club, where bookmakers gathered to set prices for horse races. Card games eventually broke out, and it became The London Vic Casino. Gamblers would show up to play London lowball games. The games would get more and more intense throughout the 1980s until this casino had the highest stakes games in the world. The average pot here was in the tens of thousands of pounds. In the turn of the 21st century, poker became more popular, so The Vic added a poker room. Today, The Vic is one of Grosvenor’s casinos and home to the UK Poker Tour’s Grand Final tournament.

Attractions & Entertainment

There are not really any attractions and entertainment at The Vic except for fine dining, drinking, and a few gambling or poker events that take place on a regular basis.

The Dining Room: In their dining room, you will find a coffee shop, an Arabic menu, and an extensive Table d’hote menu that changes every Monday.

The Bar: By the dining room is the bar, where you can grab a drink, sink into one of their lounge chairs, or enjoy a cup of coffee or a late-night snack.

Why Grosvenor Victoria Gets 3 Stars

As far as gambling goes, The Vic is a great place to try your luck. It is one of the few upscale casinos in London that will offer you the complete casino experience. The best part is that they offer free memberships, which can be hard to come by in the London gambling scene. The number of games, tournaments, and gambling events available here is really impressive.

Unfortunately, since we are judging this casino based on lodging and attractions (two aspects this casino definitely does not have), we have to award them three stars instead of five stars.
